We are happy with our 4700 Series Window Awnings purchased in the spring of 2013. We bought 2 awnings to provide shade for 2 large sets of casement windows. The awnings are very sturdy and the fabric still looks new.

We purchased custom length awnings that were over 90 inches long. We did have some challenges with the installation. The instructions call for installing the mounting bracket first and then sliding the awning onto the bracket. The mounting bracket sits flush to the house, and there were pieces of trim on the sides of our house which made it basically impossible to get the awning lined up to slide easily onto the bracket. We realized that it would be impossible to install the second awning exactly as instructed. So we came up with a workaround. We measured and pre-drilled all of the holes for the mounting bracket installation, but did not screw it in place. We slid the awning onto the mounting bracket while on the ground, then held up the awning/mounting bracket and screwed the mounting bracket in place. We wished we had done the first awning like this.

For awnings of this size, it was definitely a 2 person operation that took several hours. We are very pleased with the result.

I am very Happy with my new awning I purchased in July. My order was some what different. I have attached a pic of the awning. When I was searching for awnings and ideas I could not find any pic's available for awnings above windows that have a "Half Moon" above them. Yes it was a "Gamble" But looking at the pictures you will see how nice it looks. I have had many many positive compliments from my neighbors. I do live on a circle in a cul de sac.
